Routes

The 60km Illovo Marathon route will leave you in awe once you cross the finish line. Amazing track, scenic views and some technical and fast sections. Your legs and lungs will be fully warmed up when you reach the first water table at about 20km.
Once you have refreshed you will drop into the valley on Nsingizi and be treated to some glorious single track through forest and natural bush. Working your way through the Mid-Illovo area through farm lands eventually brings you back to the finish. Save some energy for this section as it will be fast all the way to the finish at the Beaumont Eston Farmers Club.

The 40km aQuelle Half Marathon follows the longer 60km route for the first 14km after which it splits off and sends you into some single track and down the Krantz following cattle tracks. Enjoy the view as you drop behind the waterfall through the cave. Work your way out of the Krantz and through sugarcane and timber farms and you will start to smell home. Keep some energy in the tank if you want a fast finish, the route gives you a chance to put the hammer down in the last 8km.
The 40km route caters for all fitness groups. It will be a fast route for the front riders and those who have put some training in on the bike. The social riders will also enjoy this route as it tests you in short sections however gives you time to recover and cruise.

The STIHL Tala Family Ride remains extremely popular for families and junior riders alike, and entries fill up very fast for this event. It is the only time in the year that Tala kindly open up their reserve for mountain biking and excellent game sightings are virtually guaranteed, all from the seat of your MTB!

Both the 18km and 9km Trail Runs take runners through the picturesque Tala Game Reserve and both routes offer some amazing trails as well as an opportunity to get up close and personal with the many game species that call Tala home.
